Our Story
About The Maadad Kitchen
A family, a kitchen, and the recipes that have always held us together.
The family behind
the recipes
The Maadad family has been cooking Lebanese food for as long as anyone can remember. Long before there was a cookbook, there were meals - slow-cooked, generously spiced, and always made for more people than expected.
Our kitchen was the centre of the house. It was where the day started with thick coffee and warm bread, where afternoons were spent rolling kibbeh by hand and stuffing grape leaves while everyone talked.
These recipes were never written down - they were passed from hand to hand, memory to memory, mother to daughter, grandmother to grandchild. Until now.
This cookbook was written so that these recipes are never lost. So that the next generation - wherever they are in the world - can cook the same meals, set the same table, and feel the same warmth a Lebanese home kitchen carries.
- The Maadad Family

Cooking is an act of love.
This book is proof of that.
Simple ingredients
Lebanese home cooking relies on good olive oil, fresh herbs, and the patience to let flavour develop - not fancy techniques.
Food for sharing
In Lebanon, food is never just for one. Every recipe is made to bring people together around a table.
Recipes that last
These recipes have survived generations. Writing them down is how we pass them on to the next.
About the cookbook
Appetising & Delicious: Lebanese Home Cooked Meals is a collection of over 80 recipes spanning the full Lebanese table - from small mezze dishes to hearty mains and fragrant rice, to the sweets that end a night warmly.
Every recipe has been cooked and tested in our home kitchen, not a commercial one. It's a book for beginners learning Lebanese cooking, and for experienced cooks who want the version their family actually makes.
